  • Christopher M. Hays, DPhil

    President

    Christopher joined Scholar Leaders as President in 2022 after serving as a missionary and professor of New Testament at the Biblical Seminary of Colombia in Medellín. A Biblical scholar committed to the transformation of theological knowledge into missional practice, he has worked in projects ranging from authoring scholarly volumes to establishing church-based ministries to victims of forced migration. He holds degrees from Wheaton and Oxford. His most recent book in English is Eight Million Exiles. He and his wife Michelle have three children and live in North Carolina.

  • Evan R. Hunter, PhD

    Executive Vice President

    Evan’s passions for the Church and the seminary shape his work as Vice President. He contributes across programs with a focus on integration, assessment, and reporting, and he is Executive Editor for the InSights Journal for Global Theological Education. He joined Scholar Leaders in 2004 after working as a missions pastor and in campus ministry. He serves on several boards, including those of the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education, Arab Baptist Theological Seminary, and Tyndale House Foundation. Located in Minnesota, Evan and his wife Becky keep up with four very active sons.

  • Marcos Orison de Almeida, PhD

    Vice President for Strategic Initiatives

    Marcos has served with the Scholar Leaders Vital Sustainability Initiative since 2016. Since 1998, he has worked at South American Theological Seminary in Londrina, Brazil as a full-time teacher and in many administrative positions, including as President from 2006 to 2010. Marcos is also an Evaluator of Theological Institutions and Courses for the Brazilian Department of Education. He is an ordained Presbyterian minister. He received a Leader Studies scholarship for his PhD at Fuller. He and his wife Patricia have two children.

  • Daniel DeWitt, PhD

    Creative Director

    Daniel serves with Scholar Leaders in the area of communications and marketing. He is a Senior Fellow at Southwest Baptist University where he leads the Center for Worldview & Culture. He and his wife April live in central Ohio with their four children.

  • Taras Dyatlik

    Engagement Director

    Taras earned his Master of Theology in New Testament from the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Leuven, Belgium. Taras provides critical leadership to our ongoing work in Ukraine. He lives in Rivne, Western Ukraine, with his family.

  • Aaron Harrison, M.Div

    Manager of Donor Engagement

    Aaron joined Scholar Leaders in January 2024 as the Manager of Donor Engagement. He combines passion for theological education with a fundraising skillset, having previously taught at Northern Seminary, and working with Advancement at Wheaton College. Aaron earned his M.Div from Duke Divinity School, has been in pastoral ministry for 10 years, and lives with his wife and son in Carol Stream, IL.

  • Manivanh Khy

    Sr. Advisor, Philanthropic Strategy & Innovation

    With a deep commitment to philanthropy and global development, Manivanh brings over 15 years of experience to her role as a forward-thinking leader. Her journey is shaped by a rich tapestry of cultural and familial influences, driving her dedication to kingdom-minded change. From directing impactful grantmaking initiatives at First Fruit, Inc. to cultivating alliances across varied communities, Manivanh’s professional achievements resonate with her diverse expertise gained from serving with the Peace Corps in West Africa, and furthering her studies from UC Berkeley, Pepperdine, and USC. She resides in California, where she enjoys serving on the board of her local Hmong and Lao church, baking sourdough bread, and solving Rubik’s cubes with her husband and two children.

  • Bonnie E. Lin, PhD

    Prayer Community

    Bonnie has worked with Scholar Leaders since 2015. After managing communications, she stepped back in order to do a PhD at Princeton Theological Seminary. She loves the Scholar Leaders fellowship and continues to support the ministry by guiding the prayer community.

  • Wageeh Mikhail, PhD

    Director of Engagement with Islam

    Wageeh joined Scholar Leaders in 2019 to guide the ministry in religions. Before joining Scholar Leaders, he was Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Christianity at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo, Egypt. He has published and spoken widely on medieval Arab Christianity. He received a Leader Studies scholarship for his PhD at Birmingham. He and his wife have two sons.

  • Sandi Nicely

    Donor Coordinator

    Sandi joined Theological Book Network in 2023 after significant work with Forest Hills Public Schools as their Director of Youth Sports and Enrichment. Her passion for serving the underserved has led her to integrate her experience with Scholar Leaders’ commitment to providing academic resources to the Global Church. She is married to Craig Nicely, has five children and twelve grandchildren, and finds immense joy and fulfillment in her family.

  • Kaylie Nieboer

    Administration

    Kaylie just recently joined the team at Scholar Leaders and has loved the opportunity to reenter the workforce after 13 years spent staying home with her 6 wonderful children. She is married to the love of her life, Tim, and they reside in Middleville, Michigan. Growing up as a pastor’s kid, she understands the importance of strong leaders in the Christian community and is blessed to be a part of this ministry.

  • Evelyn Reynolds, PhD

    Director for Leader Studies. Editor, InSights Journal

    Evelyn directs Leader Studies, and serves as Editor for the InSights Journal for Global Theological Education. She joined the team in 2019. She has a PhD in medieval English literature and an MFA in poetry, and she and her husband live in Indiana.

  • Scott Reynolds

    Director of Finance and Administration

    Scott serves as the Director of Finance and Operations. He joined the work of Scholar Leaders with a background in finance, law, classical education, and coffee, among other things, supported by a law degree from Columbia University and a masters’ degree in history from Indiana University. He and his wife reside among the rolling hills of southern Indiana.

  • Linzay Rinquest, PhD

    Lead Engagement Director

    Linzay joined Scholar Leaders in 2020 to help lead the Vital Sustainability Initiative. From 2006 to 2019, he was Principal/CEO of Cape Town Baptist Seminary in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2018, he was also President of the Baptist Union of Southern Africa. He continues to minister as a member of the National Executive of the Baptist Union of Southern Africa. He lives in Cape Town with his wife and three children.

  • Rolin Timmerman

    Warehouse Manager, Theological Book Network

    Rolin came to the Theological Book Network in 2006 where he did a myriad of jobs from Office Manager, working in the warehouse and international logistics. Over the years he found himself doing several of the jobs at TBN before settling in as warehouse manager. Rolin attended Calvin University where he got his BA in Communications Arts and Science and had a 13-year job in radio where he was on the morning show at WLAV-FM. He resides in Grand Rapids Michigan with his wonderful wife Polly and daughter Emily.

  • Darshak Toma

    Theological Book Network

    Darshak is an ordained minister with the United Church of Christ in Nigeria since 2004. He came to the United States to advance his studies where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Old Testament at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since 2016, Darshak has been actively volunteering at Theological Book Network. His commitment has led to a part-time internship (Curricular Practical Training) position since 2022. Darshak and his wife, Nankal, are blessed with three children and reside in Michigan.

  • Scott Watson

    Director of Acquisitions, Theological Book Network

    Scott joined Theological Book Network in 2021, leveraging his years of experience within theological education and publishing. As the Director of Acquisitions, his role involves sourcing relevant inventory and carefully curating books to align with the specific needs of our Majority World partners. He collaborates closely with school administrators, faculty, scholars, librarians, and various stakeholders to achieve this goal. Scott holds a BA in Comparative Religion from Western Michigan University and a Master of Arts in Biblical Exegesis from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He resides in Grand Rapids, MI, with his wife and two daughters.

  • Shyan Xiong

    Administration

    Shyan connects the Scholar Leaders staff through administrative and technical expertise. She joined the ministry in 2018. She and her husband George have a heart for the Hmong community and for young people. They live in the Chicago area.

Tite Tiénou

Tite Tiénou,* PhD (2001) CHAIR

Tite holds the Tite Tiénou Chair of Mission and Global Theology and is Research Professor of Theology of Mission at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is known worldwide as a theologian with expertise in Africa and a passion for developing leaders for the Global Church.
