Ministry Feature: 80,0000+ books from Theological Book Network
After Theological Book Network merged with Scholar Leaders earlier this year, they have continued to collect, curate, and ship high-quality theological books around the world. Of particular note are two projects: a book shipment to Tavriski Christian Institute and two major shipments to India.
As the war in Ukraine continues, Ukrainian seminary faculty are training new pastors for this violent reality. Because they are restructuring some degree programs to address the trauma of war, they are looking for new resources. Theological books in Russian are not useable thanks to the war, but Ukrainian and English books are. So, this spring, Theological Book Network traveled to Lincoln, IL, where Lincoln Christian University was closing its doors, to gather the University’s biblical studies and theology collections. The Network then curated the collections to meet TCI’s needs and shipped 26,946 books to Kyiv.
As religious extremism becomes more dominant in India, Christian seminaries and biblical colleges are finding it harder to access educational resources. To get ahead of biased government regulations, the Network has hurried to ship over 27,000 books to Northeast India, distributing them through a “hub-and-spoke” model to 44 schools in the region. Similarly, in Southeast India, we sent almost 16,000 books to 57 schools.
In total, Theological Book Network has served 235 schools by shipping 80,564 books.
