Honoring Dr. Paul and Rosemary Pierson: Paul and Rosemary served in Brazil and Portugal as church planters and educators for 17 years. After returning to the US, Paul served for 12 years as Dean of the School of Intercultural Studies at Fuller Theological Seminary, where he was also Professor of the History of Mission and Latin American Studies. Paul served on the Board of ScholarLeaders for more than 20 years and is now an Emeritus Board Member.
Purpose: The Pierson Scholarship supports leaders studying at Fuller Theological Seminary, especially those in the field of Intercultural Studies or involved in missions leadership.
Chung Man Anna Lo (Fuller Theological Seminary, PhD 2019 in Old Testament)
Anna exemplifies Paul Pierson’s commitment to missions and biblical theology. Originally from China, Anna served as a missionary and professor in Cambodia before pursuing doctoral studies at Fuller. Her research is on the Covenant in Exodus 19-24. After graduation, Anna and her husband will return to the mission field as church planters and professors at a theological institution in Cambodia. Anna will be among the first in Cambodia to have a doctorate in the Old Testament as she shapes theological education in the predominantly Buddhist nation.
